
Arikamedu Revisited: A Postcolonial Indian Ocean History and Archaeology
One-day national seminar organized by a number of government and private institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Art & Culture, and the Department of Tourism, Government of Puducherry, as well as the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, India, and the Indian Ocean Resource Centre. The event is being held in association with the World Peace Trust and Sri Aurobindo Mandir, Nabadwip.
The seminar focuses on the historical and archaeological significance of Arikamedu within the context of the Indian Ocean, with a postcolonial perspective. The event is a full-day seminar, and arrangements for lunch and evening tea have been made for all participants.
